System Technician IP and Satellite Communication
The Teleoperation Center is part of FMTIS Operations Unit and is responsible for operational monitoring and management of the Armed Forces' telecommunications network. We are now looking for a system technician and team leader (TL) in IP and Satellite Communication for one of our operations centers in Bålsta, Örebro, and Hästveda.
About the Unit
The Operations Unit belonging to FMTIS conducts operational monitoring as well as maintenance and remote troubleshooting within the FM strategic networks, which is a prerequisite for the Armed Forces' command capability in peace, crisis, and war.
Main Responsibilities
The position as a system technician at the Network Operations Department involves a varied job where you are the functional representative in a given area of specialization and where you will lead personnel who monitor and manage a variety of systems. You will ensure that your team performs their tasks in the best possible way and provides the conditions for the staff to succeed.
As a system technician/TL, you will be:
- Support for colleagues in IP and Satellite Communication.
- Contact person for other departments within the area of specialization.
- The one who drives the area forward by creating routines and guidelines.
As a system technician/TL, you are expected to:
- Keep the area of specialization together through weekly/monthly meetings.
- Conduct training for colleagues within the area of specialization.
- Have a good understanding of FTN and its components within IP/Satellite Communication.
- Be proactive in system development work that affects the area of specialization.
The position includes continuous professional development involving several internal and external courses and training. This means some travel to other locations to conduct these courses and training.

Qualifications
- Several years of experience as an operations technician in IP and satellite communication.
- Basic knowledge of the areas of Radio/Sensor and Transmission in the Operations Unit/Network Operations Department.
- High school education with a technical focus or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways
- Good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
- Driving license B
Meritorious
- Experience in leading personnel.
- Experience in leading and participating in projects.

The position is a permanent employment as a civilian employee and begins with a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed within the Armed Forces.
Work location: Bålsta, Örebro, or Hästveda. Work at other locations and business trips may occur.
The position is full-time, usually weekdays, but on-call duty, standby, overtime, and FM days may occur.
Upon employment, you will be placed in a war position.
